Acorn 180 Curved Stairlift
The Acorn 180 uses a modular rail assembled in the configuration needed for the stairs. A powered hinged section may be considered where the lower rail would otherwise extend across a doorway. We check the route and available options before recommending the system.
Harmar Helix Curved Stairlift
The Harmar Helix travels on an installed rail fabricated for the staircase. Its seat swivels at the upper landing to help with getting on and off, while call/send remotes bring the chair to the required landing. Where the layout allows, the rail can include a parking position around a corner.
Handicare Freecurve Curved Stairlift
Freecurve uses a single-tube rail. An optional two-way powered pivot turns the chair during travel to help with clearance on tight turns; a separate powered swivel turns it at the upper landing. Other options include a powered folding footrest and Active Seat assistance with sitting and standing on compatible chairs. We assess which configuration suits the user and staircase.
Bespoke Infinity Curved Stairlift
The Bespoke Infinity combines a rail made for the staircase with folding arms and seating. A lever operates the footrest, and a digital display shows the lift’s status. The assessment considers these everyday controls as well as the space needed for the chair and rail.

Our team measures the flights, turns, landings and clearances using the method required for the selected system. You do not need to take technical measurements before contacting us.
3. Rail Design and Model Selection
We explain the suitable model, rail route, seating options and quote. The rail may use configured modular sections or require custom fabrication. We confirm the expected schedule once the equipment and availability are established.
4. Installation and Demonstration
When the equipment is ready, we install and test the lift. We show the user and family how to operate the controls, use the seat and folding functions, and leave the chair in its charging position.
Frequently Asked Questions About Curved Stairlifts
Do I need a curved stairlift if my staircase has a landing?
A curved system is often considered when stairs turn or continue across an intermediate landing, allowing one chair to connect the flights. A landing at the end of a single straight flight does not automatically require a curved lift. The route and available space determine the recommendation.
Can a stairlift be installed on a spiral staircase?
Some spiral staircases can accommodate a curved stairlift. We assess the bends, incline and clearance along the entire route, including space for the seated user. A photograph can help explain the layout, but a measured assessment is needed to confirm a suitable model.

Pre-owned options may be available. The chair, rail, condition and parts support need to be assessed for your staircase; a rail from another home is not automatically compatible. Ask about current pre-owned stairlift options before choosing equipment elsewhere.
